Today we went on a Disney youth education series and the two Disneyland parks. The YES was so cool! We got to learn what is put into making a animated movie. We even got to create our own story and a short storyboard with a few pictures. Going around Disney was so cool! I got to ride rides I have never gone on before. But tomorrow we go back to our rock, also known as Kauai.
STN Trip Day 9
Today we went to the STN Awards ceremony, and California Adventure theme park. The awards ceremony was so exciting! Our team spot feature got third place and it was amazing. Quick little shoutout to Mia M. and Kolten for making my first STN a memorable one. When we went to California Adventure it was so much fun to ride all of the rides.
STN Trip Day 8
Today we went to breakout sessions and went to baseball game. When I went to breakout sessions I got to learn about the television industry which I want to be in later on in life. We also went to a baseball game. It was at the Angels stadium and it was the Angels against the dodgers.
STN Trip Day 7
Today was my spot feature competition. We did not have the best of luck finding a story but, our Castaic friends Beth and Austin helped us by letting us interview them. Even though I didn't get to edit I saw the video and it was good. We also went to a big breakout session and it was really cool to see all of the things that he worked including the planet of the apes.
STN Trip Day 6
Today was Crazy 8's and opening ceremony. Now I know why Crazy 8's was given its name, because everything is crazy. My team just found a story thankfully before we needed to leave. We got through editing pretty well with just having to fix a few things. In the last couple of minutes everything was crazy. At that point we had no clue what was on that flash drive but, we made the deadline. The opening ceremony was so cool. Before the ceremony lots of convention recap groups were getting b roll and think we might make it into some videos. It was so cool during the ceremony. There was a lot of talk about fake news and how we need to get our own generation to trust the media again. The guest speaker Steve Oedekerk was so cool! He is a writer, director, producer, actor, and stand up comedian.
STN Trip Day 5
Today we went to the Angels stadium, a special tour of the Disney animation studio, and we got to meet our pen pals! First, at the Angels stadium we got a tour of the stadium when they were getting ready for the first game of the season on Thursday. Next, we went to a very, very special tour at the Disney Animation studio. We learned about the different jobs that they have and what they do and I think I would love to do that. To top off that we got to quickly meet Josh Gad who is the voice of Olaf. Finally we got to meet our penpals in person. I loved meeting Beth she was so cool.
STN Trip Day 4
Today we went to the Hollywood stars, The Chinese Theater, and to Downtown Disney. We started off our day by visiting the stars down at Hollywood and the hand and foot prints of many many favorite stars. One of my favorite older stars is Marilyn Monroe, I was so excited to see her hand and foot prints down at the Chinese theater. Then we moved down to our next hotel down in Anaheim which means we are closer and closer to STN! But finally we went to Downtown Disney.
STN Trip Day 3
On the third day of the STN trip we went to the Universal theme park and V.I.P tour! We were the second group that went on the tour so in the morning we got to explore the theme park. This was my first time at the theme park so I was excited to see what there was. My favorite ride was the Harry Potter ride, even though I haven't read the books it was so cool to see everything. Next, we went on the tour. It was so cool we got to see some of the outdoor sets of some movies. But the coolest part was the 3-D experience. We got to adventure with the animals of skull island and the cast of fast and the furious.
STN Trip Day 2
Today we went to Warner Brothers studio, UCLA, and a lakers game. Our first stop which was Warner Bros. was so amazing. We got to see the sets where some of my favorite tv shows and movies where shot. Our tour guide Noah told us secrets on how some shots were made and how it happened. We also got to see where some of the most iconic scenes where shot on the property. Our next stop was UCLA. We got to learn about the film and theater classes that they have. I definitely love the school and I might go there one day. Lastly the Laker game was so amazing. Even though I don't watch sports, watching this game was so amazing because we were live at the game. There was so much energy and I loved it so much.
