Hello everyone! For this week’s free blog topic I will be doing a doing a movie review on Alice Through the Looking Glass. This is one of my favorite films either it could the be the hit song Just Like Fire by P!NK or just the plot of this movie.
First I love about the movie is it takes you through the characters life in wonderland. You can find out how the Mad Hatter lost his family or how the red queen has a weird shaped head. You also get to see these characters from when they are just little kids to the present.
The second thing I love about this movie is they have added in new characters. For instance, one of the main characters Time plays an important role in this film whether he is in battle with losing time or when he gets his most prized possession stolen. Another new face well quite a couple it is the Mad Hatter’s family. You will learn about their past and where they have been all these years.
Finally, I love this movie because of the message. This teaches you about time and how it is special. As Alice once said, “I used to think Time was a thief. But you give before you take. Time is a gift. Every minute every second.” This teaches you even if you hate the past all you can do is learn from it.
I hope you guys get to check out this film! It is out on DVD and you can watch the trailer if you want to know more. But for now, see you next time!
Hey everyone this week’s theme is hardest challenges in media so far. Something that might appear in the video is our franchise piece. This video is our first project of the year so this is something that is a little stressful. So here are the top three stressful things about media so far.
To start it of the first hardest thing about media is making sure all of your shots have to be clean. For instance, if you are shooting and if your camera makes the slightest move your shot is trash. If this repeats then you will have many shots and when editing you need to make sure you imported the right clips or else you will have an incomplete project. Also when you get clean then you will get better results.
So, if we are talking about video editing that is the next hardest thing about media. Having little experience this is something that I don't have that others may have. I am totally making progress by editing the franchise piece that is going out today. Some of the most difficult parts about editing is making sure if you have a voice over you need to make sure there isn’t any nat sounds in the background. Or making sure your video isn’t really long or really short, this really affects it.
The final hardest thing about media is carrying everything. I know this makes me sound lazy but this is actually true. Having shorter arms this is hard for me to accomplish and all these pieces of equipment are quite heavy so you can't blame me. But bringing all these things such as tripods and cameras it's all worth it.
So, these are in my opinion the hardest things about media so far. But in the end I will have strength camera shooting, editing, and in my arms this will be a good year. See you guys next week on the next daily blog topic.
Hey guys! As you may know my editing skills aren't that great yet. So,I found a tutorial which teaches you how to edit audio which I find quite puzzling. If you have not so high editing skills or just want to get more information this video is for you
Hey everyone this week’s blog topic is summer projects! So, during the summer all the new media students including me came up with a franchise piece that could be featured on Hiki No. Me and my partner Asia did a environment safe bottle cap decor. This idea could stop the overflowing landfills as well as saving all of Kauai’s birds.
So first is our progress, we need to reshoot different things such as the painting the bottle caps or shots of different birds other than chickens. We also need to fix the voiceover because we need to put more information and maybe a quieter room to film it in. These things will be fixed and be better than the first video.
The next thing is the improvements, so this will include audio and video. So the first thing we need to fix editing wise is all the jump cuts. In the first video in between some of the shots there were quick little jump cuts that could beep us out. So, when editing the video we need to triple check the video before publishing it.
When shooting we also need cut out the person’s face and as I was saying before get closer when shooting the bottle caps. This will help viewers understand more when watching the video and it won’t be focused to much on the person.
This is where we are on our summer projects, so hope you enjoy it when it comes out on August 26 or sooner!
Hey guys! I love this youtuber his name is Zach King and he posts magic videos but they are short videos but many are put into a compilation. He has been featured on many commercials on tv and he is one of the most successful viners. Most of his magic videos has to be edited and in my opinion he is one of my favorites. Check him out below!!
This week’s blog post is about new year, new goals so I will be sharing all my goals for this year. I am a new student so I have a lot of goals in mind so here’s a few!
One goal that I have for this school year is to expand my knowledge with editing. At my old school I didn’t get to edit much so this will definitely be a change for me. Whether it is audio editing or video editing this is something that I am not strong in. Having all these small projects coming there will many chances to edit and improve!
Another goal for the media class is to get more creative with my camera shots. This goal is to either to get camera shots less shaky or just having more creative ideas that no has thought of. Yes I know there is the basics shots such as birdseye and close-up but it could be a twist on the basics. Also making the basic camera shots as clean as I possibly can and perfecting them on my own time. Another way the shots cleaner is triple checking the tripod and walking by tripod without moving which could ruin it having to restart.
The last goal is to make the most of this media class. I know many students are wishing for summer back but coming back was amazing! This class does not only teach media it teaches you many things about life such as how to time manage, to make deadlines, and how to be organized.
Many of these things will help towards the future, take organization for example it will make sure everything is in place when you need it. Also all of these projects that you are given you will learn something new everyday. Finally you will make friendships that will last a lifetime.
These are my goals for this year and there many more! I hope to put out lots of great content!
