Hey everyone! This week’s assigned blog topic is announcements but this week it’s about how we feel about the announcements and what we think we can do to make it better.
First is how do I feel about announcements. I feel like it’s easier because the announcers are around you so you know what they need to do or if their printing scripts. But, from the announcer’s view I feel like it is a bit harder because we are starting to get used to this. Whether it’s getting the scripts or getting all the right information we will get better with time. So you could say that announcements are going alright.
But we can always improve. Three ways that I think we could make announcements better for our audience is to first always make sure we go through our script just to make sure there are no mistakes. Whether it is grammar, time or place, or we missed a word this can help us go through the script easier. I remember times where the announcers were practicing their script and they stopped because there was mistake in their script. The whole team had to stop for a silly mistake in the script.
Another way that I think that we could make announcements better is to have everything prepared the day before so we can practice faster. I think that this could make the announcements better because there might less time to practice because of the titles and having to fill them in. Announcers usually have time to practice so their good but on the other side of the window the tech room might not be ready to practice so that could hold back everyone.
The last thing that I think that we should do to our announcements better is to practice the day before so when you’re in the broadcast room it isn’t your first time reading the script. You can just flow through it without sounding like a robot and you can even sound enthusiastic. I feel like this will kind of add some energy to the broadcast and keep the viewers from looking away.
So that’s all for this week! Hope you have an amazing day.
